Informed parents are the key to earlier dyslexia detection.
Issue: Massachusetts public schools require a formal letter to test for dyslexia.
Impact: Diagnosis is delayed when parents mistakenly assume testing will automatically occur if reading problems are noticed.
Important: Even after you submit your letter, your school may suggest delaying testing. All you need to say is, “No thank you, let’s do it now.”
